Event Details

The Artists in Residence event begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. at the Shark Valley Visitor Center. Upon arrival, take a 45 minute private tram tour to the Observation Tower. Current fellow Magnus Sodamin, will instruct a one hour painting workshop and you will get a sneak preview of his Wild Billboard. We supply all painting materials, but please bring sunscreen, a hat, bug spray and a water bottle. There is a $20.00 Park entrance fee per vehicle, but you can park on the swale of the Tamiami trail for free. Local Artists in Residence Inspiration & Fun

This artists event is a local favorite and is a great way to get inspired. See the everglades through new eyes and create a lasting memory and work of art. Enjoy a personal lesson from a fantastic local artist and learn some new techniques to add to your tool bag. Meet other Artists in Residence and make new friends with similar interests. Take home your work of art and display it proudly on our wall, or give it as a special gift. 

What To Bring

Bring a snack or picnic and and your favorite tea or coffee to sip. Invite your spouse, kids, or a friend to share this fun and artistic experience. The park is filled with beautiful surroundings for you to gain ideas and inspiration from.  Please arrive early to make sure you get settled and enjoy the full class time. You will want to be at the tram 10-15 minutes before it leaves to avoid delays.
